Kigo Basics

Our mission is to support vacation rental businesses in their efforts to streamline their activity, make agencies work together and help them reach a maximum of customers. We achieve this goal by getting you to use Kigo to the maximum of its capacities. This guide is intended as a starting point by covering the basics of working with our solution.

Add properties and owners

The first thing you might want to do is to add properties into Kigo. A property is always linked to an owner account that you will create at the same time.

Add reservations and search for availabilities

There are multiple ways for reservations to be created: online inquiries, through email parsing, by owners or other agencies. You can directly add them to the calendar too and search for availabilities there.

Setup email templates, reminders and notifications

If there is a time saver, it's the email templates, a really convenient way to create reusable emails, automatically filled in with reservation details. Get email notifications when a guest makes an inquiry or when an owner cancels a reservations, receive and send email reminders.

Channel manager

The Channel Manager lets you connect to rental agencies or portals, giving you more opportunities to distribute properties and availabilities.

The main steps to get you started are:

Be listed in the directory

Start off by getting your agency listed in the directory so that others could find you.

Connect to agencies and portals

The directory lists agencies that chose to be found and connected with, as well as advertising site partners.
The portals have different requirements and connection statuses with Kigo in terms of sharing availability, property content and pricing.

Share and receive properties

Decide which properties are shared with partners and in reverse, receive properties from them.

If there is one thing that makes Kigo powerful, it's the integration between the reservation system and the website. Almost any property information can be immediatly displayed online and online reservations go right into the system with guest details.

A Kigo website is a remarkable marketing tool as well. Be sure to consult the points 1, 3, and 4 of our Gettting started with a website template article to learn how to fully use it.

Configure rent calculation

By configuring rent calculation, prospective clients are able to calculate the rate of the stay for their dates and number of guests.

Activate online booking

Guests can instantly confirm a reservation by paying online. To activate online booking and pricing you need to have a payment solution such as Paypal setup in your website.
If you don't have one yet, check a list of the solutions currently integrated in Kigo and contact our sales team for more information:
