Preserving current SEO & 301 redirects

Preserving current SEO

When migrating to Kigo, to preserve the current search engine optimization, there are some basic things that we do:

  • create an identical website structure
  • create identical URLs for each page
  • create identical meta tags for each page

301 redirects

When you transfer you website to Kigo you might need to redirect the old URLs such as "http://www.example.com/properties/Lorena-44587.php" to something cleaner like "http://www.example.com/lorena". That's when 301 redirects come into play.

Enter first the Source URL which is what's after the domain extension. In our previous example it would be "properties/Lorena-44587.php". Then select the Destination URL which can only be an existing page on the website.
